Revman headed for Empire State Building HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/30/2013 12:21:35 PM New York - After nearly 25 years in its uptown showroom here on Avenue of the Americas, Revman International will relocate this month to the Empire State Building. The home textiles brand specialist - whose licenses include Tommy Hilfiger, Laura Ashley, Tommy Bahama, Vera Wang, Eddie Bauer, Nautica, Marimekko, Steve Madden, Candice Olsen and Perry Ellis, among others - will occupy the full 70th floor at 350 Fifth Ave. Once the move has been completed on Aug. 12, the company's new phone number will be (212) 894-3100.
Company president and ceo Rich Roman said motivations for the move were financial and geographic. When Revman opened its showroom on Avenue of the Americas at 47th Street in 1989, most of the big U.S. mills had their New York offices nearby. "That's where the market for home fashions was," he said. "It was the place to be." Revman has since become the northern-most outpost of for an industry whose showrooms are largely located on or near 5th Avenue between 27th and 34th Streets. The Empire State showroom being designed by architectural firm SCHWEITZER + ASSOCIATES will give Revman more flexibility in displaying its brands. A system of moveable walls will allow the company to expand or contract space and create meeting spaces for specific presentations. "It's nice to be able to design a space from the get-go," said Roman. The new showroom also allows Revman to display the Nautica brand alongside its others. Nautica had previously been housed in its own showroom at 295 Fifth Ave.
